The context-sensitive help for the Emplifi Agent training environment now goes to our new (Training) documentation site.
After v12.2 GA, the context-sensitive help for the Emplifi Agent production environment will go to our new (Production) documentation site.
Because of the above, this site is no longer updated and will be deprecated after the release of v12.2 GA.
Normalization Set Maintenance
Normalization Sets provide the data that is used during normalized reporting. You must define a normalization set and populate it with data before you can use any of the normalized reporting features.
The normalization set values are usually created using the Normalization Data Import Utility. However, it is also possible to manually add, change, and delete values directly from this screen.
To create a new Normalization Set:
- In Administration, select System Setup
Reporting Configuration
Normalization Data.
- Click the New Normalization button on the banner. The system prompts you for an ID for the new set.
- Enter an appropriate ID and click OK. The length of the ID should be a maximum of 12 characters.
- Enter a description for this set and edit its properties.
- Then, click the Save button on the banner.
Normalization Set Fields
Field | Description |
---|---|
Set ID |
Displays the ID that was entered when the set was created. It cannot be changed. |
Description |
Type a text description for the set. Try to enter something descriptive of the set data, such as "Product sales for fiscal 2005." |
Time Frame |
Enter a Time Frame to which each value applies. |
Category |
Select the Category to which the values in the set will apply. |
Level |
Select the level within the hierarchy of the selected category to which the values in the set apply. Many times this is at the code level, but normalization data can be applied and reported on at any level. |
Scale Factor |
Use the scale factor when your normalization data values are very large, and you want to avoid dealing with small percentages on reports. Enter a value that is an exponent of 10 (10, 100, 1000, etc.). When the normalization data values are used on a report, they are first divided by this number. ![]() For a specific item, you sold 4 million units and received 150 complaints. Without a scale factor, this would come to a percentage of 0.00375%: 150 ÷ 4,000,000 = 0.0000375 If you entered a scale factor of 1000, the calculated percentage would be 3.75%: 150 ÷ (4,000,000 ÷ 1000) = 0.0375 (Remember that the calculated values are multiplied by 100 to convert them to a percentage.) |
Normalization Set Values
Field | Description |
---|---|
Time Period |
Select the time period to which the normalization data value applies. |
Code |
Enter the code (within the specified category and level) to which the normalization data value applies. |
Normalization Data |
Enter the actual data value for this time period and code. |
