Because of the above, this site is no longer updated and will be deprecated after the release of v12.2 GA.

Notifier Communication Devices

Notifier communication devices are used when you are setting up your notification definitions and profiles.

The actual values are pre-defined and should not be changed under any circumstances. The available types are as follows:

Email: For plain-text emails.
Email (full): For emails that can contain HTML-formatted text.
Pager: For messages that are sent to a pager or other device capable of receiving text messages, such as a cell phone.

When you are specifying the address for a recipient, you will always be using an email address. Emails, faxes, and pager and text messages are all sent through an email interface. However, choosing the proper device type is still important because the processing that takes place behind the scenes is different for each type, even though an email address is used in all cases.

Note: Email (full) is the only type of device that supports formatted text. All the other devices require plain text messages.
