Layout Editor Overview

Most screens in Emplifi Agent consist of a Function Banner, an Application Function Bar, and a Function Page. The selection in the Application Function Bar determines what displays on the Function Page. For an explanation of these areas, see Emplifi Agent Window.

For any given page selection, the specific information that displays on the Function Page is defined by a layout. The layout defines all the fields, tables, and other information for that view (also referred to as a screen). The administrator uses the window Layout Editor to define the layout.

The Layout Editor is an administrative utility that is included in Emplifi Agent. It allows an administrator to have complete control over what fields appear in which views, and in what order. Views are customizable depending on the Company ID, Configuration ID, and Language ID of your users.

If you have not already read the section on Layout Files, or if you are somewhat unclear on that subject, you will find it helpful to review that first. Without a good understanding of the different files involved, it will be difficult to understand some of the editor functions.
